Happy ‘blog-day’

My first year of having a blog is over! I can’t even believe it’s been a year already. It is still extremely scary in lots of ways as I am still a newbie, but equally thrilling when I receive ‘views’ and ‘likes’ and comments.

Also, the messages of support I’ve had so far from fellow-bloggers have been lovely!

I have written ever since I could physically write. I have notebooks full of stories, poems and plays from when I was a child, not to mention all the diaries I have kept for over twenty years.

Because it was second nature to me and something I always did, I never thought of it as a hobby. People would ask me what I did for fun and I never mentioned writing because it wasn’t a hobby in my head, it was just my life.

I started to take it more seriously a few years ago and wrote a short story, which I am still pretty proud of.

Then the babies came along.

I know I don’t need to say it aloud but my spare time has now decreased somewhat dramatically!

I started writing shorter pieces, just what I had time for but also I noticed they were mostly about being a mother, as that became my new passion.

That’s when the idea for a blog took root.

I am amazed though not only at how much I enjoy doing it but at how much I enjoy reading everyone else’s. It’s like a community that focuses on two passions together; writing and parenting. (Only because many of the blogs I follow are of a similar theme but I read others too that are brilliant!)

I am not an avid blogger, I couldn’t commit to doing more than I do at the moment because I am so busy at home, but I love what I do and yes, I do it for fun!

Thank you to everyone who is reading this, thank you to anyone who has supported me on my blogging journey so far.

I look forward to where this may lead in the future and I am certain my two little muses will keep me inspired for a good while yet!

Happy blogging birthday to me!
